About the ITIL 4 Foundation exam

ITIL 4 Foundation — syllabus published by PeopleCert, which owns and administers ITIL (AXELOS branding is obsolete). 40 multiple-choice questions, 60 minutes, pass mark 65% (26 of 40), closed book, no prerequisites. Marks by learning outcome: key concepts 5, guiding principles 6, four dimensions 2, the service value system 1, service value chain activities 2, purpose and key terms of 15 practices 7, seven practices in detail 17. Only 15 of the 34 ITIL 4 practices are examinable at Foundation, of which seven are tested in detail: continual improvement, change enablement, incident management, problem management, service request management, service desk and service level management. ITIL certificates now expire after 3 years, renewed via 60 CPD points through PeopleCert Plus or another course in the same Product Suite. PeopleCert has also published ITIL Foundation Version 5; ITIL 4 remains bookable and ITIL 4 certificates remain valid.
