IT certification is a versioning problem wearing a badge. CompTIA’s Security+ page, retrieved in October 2026, sells V7 today and dates V8 around 17 November 2026. AWS exam codes retire. Azure AI exams have already been renumbered once in this catalogue’s lifetime. A question bank that does not name the live code is a trivia deck for a job posting that no longer exists. This hub is for vendor and vendor-neutral credentials — AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, CompTIA, CISSP, CISM, CKA, Terraform, Salesforce — whose failure mode is a résumé filter and a recertification cycle, not a state board.

These exams are scenario-heavy. The live item is almost never “what is S3.” It is “this company has this constraint; which service, configuration, or control actually meets it.” CoStudy’s IT banks are written in that voice. Public samples on each bank page show the constraint, the almost-right service, and the rationale that kills it. If you wanted a glossary, you are in the wrong catalogue.

How cloud exams differ from licensing exams

A Series 7 candidate is sponsored and sitting a stable FINRA outline. An AWS associate candidate is usually self-scheduled, paying $150 (on AWS’s Solutions Architect – Associate page as of October 2026), and staring at a guide that can be revised while they study. That changes the homework. You must freeze a version: SAA-C03, SY0-701, AZ-104, not “AWS” or “Security+” as eternal nouns. Then you study the domains in that PDF, including the ones that feel like accounting (cost-optimized architectures) or like HR (security program oversight).

Licensing banks punish you for ignoring a statute. Cloud banks punish you for ignoring a constraint. Multi-AZ versus multi-Region is not a vocabulary pair; it is an RPO conversation. A security group that is “more secure” but breaks the stated application is a fail. The rationales in these banks talk that way on purpose.

There is overlap in the humans. Plenty of CPA candidates also sit Security+. Do not merge the decks. FAR does not care about NACLs. Security+ does not care about GASB. Use this hub for the posting that named a vendor.

How CoStudy maps vendor blueprints

AWS banks follow the published exam-guide domains. Solutions Architect – Associate is four design domains (secure, resilient, high-performing, cost-optimized), 65 questions, 130 minutes, per AWS’s own associate page. Cloud Practitioner is a different outline and a different job; it is a valid first credential, not a secret SAA. SysOps and professional-level architect exams are not “harder SAA” — they test different verbs (operate versus design).

CompTIA banks follow the live exam objectives. Security+ in this catalogue is SY0-701 / V7, with domain weights recorded from those objectives, and a warning on the bank page that V8 is scheduled. Network+ and A+ are not Security+ with the serial numbers filed off; they are different objectives. If a job named Network+, do not “just do Security+ because it is more prestigious.”

CISSP and CISM sit here because they are security credentials with vendor-neutral bodies (ISC2, ISACA), not because they are CompTIA. They assume experience the associate cloud exams do not. Using CISSP items as Security+ extra credit is how people memorize governance language and still miss an operations PBQ.

Microsoft, Google Cloud, HashiCorp, Kubernetes, Salesforce, Snowflake, Databricks, NVIDIA — each bank’s page should name the exam code it was written to. If you cannot see a code, treat the page as a topic study set, not as a sitting plan, until you match it to a live guide.

Choosing a first IT bank

If you have never used a public cloud, start where the vendor says to start. AWS’s Solutions Architect – Associate page tells people without IT experience to consider Cloud Practitioner first. That is not marketing copy we invented. If you already design VPCs, skip Practitioner and go to associate architect or SysOps depending on whether you design or operate.

If you are leaving a help-desk role into security, Security+ V7 is still the usual filter in 2026. Read CompTIA’s V8 date before you buy a voucher that might seat you on a new outline. Do not study two Security+ versions at once.

If the posting named CISSP, look at ISC2’s experience requirement before you treat CoStudy as a substitute for years of work. A question bank can rehearse the CBK domains. It cannot backdate employment.

Azure versus AWS is an employer question, not a CoStudy ranking. Sit the cloud you will be asked to draw on a whiteboard. Dual-tracking two associate exams in the same month is how both outlines stay at 60%.

How to practice so the scenario sticks

Read the stem’s constraint before the service names. Circle the RPO, the compliance sentence, the budget, the “must not go to the internet.” Then look at the options. The credited answer is usually the only one that satisfies the circled clause. The rationale should name that clause. If a CoStudy rationale does not, that item should be reported — it is a bad cloud item.

Keep a version pin at the top of your notes: exam code, retirement date if any, delivery vendor. AWS associate is Pearson VUE or online. CompTIA is Pearson VUE / OnVUE. Do not arrive at a Prometric FINRA center for Security+.

Use the public sample on the bank page as a product test. If the items look like definition matching, you are on the wrong bank or an old outline. Associate architect and Security+ operations items should feel like tickets.

A promise that a CoStudy score predicts a Pearson VUE pass. Vendor exams use scaled scores and performance items we cannot fully clone in static HTML. Practice here is for the decision, not for a fake percentage that will not be on your score report.

Labs, consoles, and why a static page is not enough

A cloud exam still wants pictures in your head. After you miss a CoStudy item about a NAT gateway or a private subnet, draw the diagram. After you miss a Security+ operations item, write the order of contain-eradicate-recover in one line. The HTML samples on these pages are for judging rationale quality and for search engines. They are not a substitute for the vendor’s own labs, AWS Skill Builder, or a used laptop with a free-tier account.

That is also why this hub does not pretend that “2,000 practice questions” is a plan. Two thousand items on the wrong exam code are a liability. Fifty items against the live guide, with rationales you can repeat, plus a diagram you can draw, will beat a random dump. Pin the code, practise the constraint, then sit.

If you are collecting certs for a résumé line rather than a sitting date, stop at one associate or one Security+ until it is actually on the calendar. A folder of unlocked banks is not a study plan, and it is a good way to expire a voucher you never scheduled.

Recertification is a separate problem from first sitting. CompTIA CE, AWS certification validity windows, and CISSP CPE are owned by those bodies. This hub will not invent a renewal hour count. When your badge is already on the wall, use the issuer’s continuing-education page, not a first-time associate bank, to decide whether you need another exam sitting or only reported hours.

Both exist as separate banks with separate outlines. Solutions Architect – Associate is 65 questions and 130 minutes per AWS’s associate page. Practitioner is the fundamentals exam. Do not study them as one pile.

Will you update for Security+ V8 on day one?

The current bank is SY0-701 / V7, with V8’s announced window called out on the Security+ page. When V8’s objectives are the sitting version, the bank has to move — do not assume V7 weights apply.
