CoStudy pricing — what is free, what you unlock, and what is not for sale yet
Two catalogues, two billing models. Professional certifications are one-time unlocks per exam (and a few track bundles). Educational is a planned subscription that is not for sale yet. Prices below match the live study app as of the 2026-07-26 reprice.
CoStudy is not a Netflix-for-every-exam product. A Series 7 candidate should not subsidise an AP Biology deck, and a parent should not be forced through a CPA unlock to practise SAT Math. Professional banks are sold à la carte. Educational was designed as its own subscription. Until that subscription is switched on, you can still open Educational decks that have launched in the app, and you can still read public samples of professional banks on this site for free.
What you can use for free
- Public bank pages on this site, with real multiple-choice items and full rationales — no account.
- The first 10 questions of every professional bank inside the app, as a preview.
- Account creation and progress sync between costudy.net and the iOS app.
- Kindergarten Sight Words, which the app treats as a free Educational deck.
That is the honest free tier. It is not “the whole K–2 catalogue” and it is not a perpetual full-length mock exam.
Professional certifications — one-time unlocks
Buy a single bank. No subscription. The unlock follows your account on the web and on iPhone.

The default $15 / $17.99 pair is what FINRA Series exams, CompTIA, AWS associate banks, NCLEX, PMP and the rest of the à la carte catalogue charge unless they appear in the override rows. Web checkout is Stripe. iOS checkout is the App Store. International storefronts may convert currency.
Certification bundles — a track, not a buffet
Bundles exist for people who are actually sitting a sequence. They are cheaper than buying each bank in the bundle at the default à la carte price. They are not a discount on the whole professional catalogue.

A CPA complete bundle at $500 is the six Core and Discipline sections, not a CFA level. A FINRA bundle does not include CPA FAR. If you only need Series 7, buy Series 7.
Educational — listed, not yet for sale
Coming soon — not yet available to subscribe. When the paywall is live, Educational is meant to unlock the school, AP, admissions and novel-study catalogue as a subscription with a 7-day free trial (once per customer):

Do not treat those figures as a live offer. The study app greys the Educational subscribe buttons on purpose. SAT Math, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT and MCAT still have public practice pages on this site; K-12, AP and literature banks remain in the app without a marketing index.
How this compares to sitting the real exam
A CoStudy unlock is practice. It is not a voucher, a Notice to Schedule, or a license. Series 7 sitting fees, CPA window fees, NCLEX board fees and AWS exam vouchers live on the certifying body’s site and change. We do not bundle those. If a bank page quotes an official fee, it cites the page and the date; if we could not confirm it, the table says unverified.

What is free without paying?
The first 10 questions of every professional certification bank are a free preview, including the written rationales, with no account required. Account and progress sync across web and iOS is also free. Kindergarten Sight Words is free in the Educational catalogue in the app.
Is Educational a subscription I can buy today?
Not yet. The Educational catalogue (K-12, AP, admissions, novel studies) is in the app, but the Educational subscription is marked coming soon and is not available to subscribe. Listed Educational prices ($8.50/month or $90/year on the web; $10/month or $100/year on iOS, with a 7-day trial once those plans open) are what the app will charge when the paywall is turned on — they are not a live checkout today.
Do professional certifications renew?
No. A professional bank is a one-time unlock for that certification, forever, on web and iOS with the same account. There is no all-you-can-eat professional subscription. Bundles are also one-time.
Why is the iOS price higher on some products?
Where the app shows a split, the iOS price covers Apple’s commission. The default professional bank is $15 on the web and $17.99 on iOS. CPA sections, CFA levels, and the Real Estate license are the same amount on both platforms. Some bundles (Allied Health, PMI) also show a higher iOS price.
